Since 1954, DeAngelis Iron Work has been designing, fabricating and restoring ornamental metal work for clients throughout the United States. Over the years, the company has emerged as a leader in the execution of highly acclaimed, award-winning projects. Today, DeAngelis Iron Work offers a full range of ornamental metal work capabilities to general contractors, municipalities, private institutions and historic commissions.
The Problem
An image gallery of previous works would be needed in addition to a testimonials page – all of which would make DeAngelis Iron Work, Inc. appear that much more credible to a website newcomer. Ultimately, the desired result would be a follow-up phone call or email from the client to request more information or a project quote.
The Solution
The owners were fairly familiar with what others in the field were doing with their Internet marketing efforts and the Information Discovery Process by Kudzu commenced with an effort to discover DeAngelis' likes and dislikes. Overall, DeAngelis was seeking a balanced mix of style, flow and simplicity. Equipped with this information, designers at Kudzu were able to create a unique, highly stylized design which was both aesthetically pleasing and easy to read.
Website copy was easily acquired as a result of DeAngelis having an extensive collection of previously published materials. With base copy in hand, information was then assembled into a logical structure and minimal corrections were required to attain the finished product.
The Results
The finished project turned out to be pretty impressive. On the first day alone, the new website received 43 unique visits and as of mid-April 2007 it continues to generate an average of 20 unique visits per day. Kudzu, however, can't take all of the credit for the site's success. Much of this response comes as a result of various discovery vehicles already being in place prior to DeAngelis' website design request.
Being a NOMMA member since 1976 and featured in numerous online directories before approaching Kudzu were instumental in making this particular project so "turn-key". It does, however, prove the point that through careful planning and the right mix of services, the addition of a new marketing vehicle can yield some pretty impressive returns.
